Panda for Exchange Server optimization hotfix

Panda has developed hotfixes HAS_4_02_01_0025.exe and HAS_4_02_30_0012.exe to make the necessary corrections and changes indicated below and optimize Panda Security for Exchange Servers on 2000/2003 Exchange servers.

• Solved Inetinfo crashes on Exchange Clusters when an error in the PSExAnTe.dll library was returned. The problems occurred because although the function that obtained the information from the virtual server claimed to have done so correctly, the corresponding data was not entered. The function has been modified to check the error is not returned and the data is correctly completed, to prevent null pointers.
  
• The installer has been modified so that when the protection engine is updated in the cluster (upgrade), the configuration generated by the user is saved. This way, an incident is solved in which the configuration parameters of the Content-filter and Anti-spam protection defined by the user were overwritten by the default configuration files in the installation package.
  
• An incident is solved due to which when the Flag with SCL option was enabled in the Anti-spam configuration module, messages detected as Spam were deleted, regardless of the Exchange server configuration.
  
• An incident is solved due to which the PSExAnPrc.exe scan process ended abruptly and returned an error. This occurred when handling a VSAPI property it claimed existed, but which was actually not included in the properties file.
  
• An error is corrected due to which when MAPI mail profiles were not correctly created, it tried to release the same resource twice, causing the PAsScan.exe to crash when trying to get the list of server mailboxes.
  
• A new function is included in the update plug-in (PavExUpd.dll), which checks that the signature file (pav.sig) downloaded is correct, before updating the protection.
  
• A problem is solved when intercepting VSAPI messages, due to which, when a zero-length item was handled, an error was returned to VSAPI. Consequently, the Exchange server blocked the item, preventing the message from being downloaded through POP3 or opened with Outlook.
  
• An incident is solved due to which the scanned message counter in the Phishing protection did not increase correctly.
  
• An incident is solved due to which Office 2007 files were not detected when the protection wasn’t configured to scan all the extensions.

IMPORTANT: To know which hotfix to apply, check the version of AdminSecure 2007 installed. To do so, go to the Help menu, About Panda AdminSecure 2007.

Hotfix for version 4.02.01 of AdminSecure

1. Download the HAS_4_02_01_0025.exe file (31.8 MB)
2. Save the file to your hard disk (to the Windows Desktop, for example).
3. Run the downloaded file on the computers on which a repository is installed.
4. Once AdminSecure 2007 is updated, check whether there is a Panda for Exchange Server 3.10.06 package in Tools, Updates and repositories, Packages tab.
5. Update Panda for Exchange Servers.
6. Once the hotfix is applied, check that the Panda for Exchange Server version is 3.10.06.

Hotfix for version 4.02.30 of AdminSecure

1. Download the HAS_4_02_30_0012.exe file (31.8 MB)
2. Save the file to your hard disk (to the Windows Desktop, for example).
3. Run the downloaded file on the computers on which a repository is installed.
4. Once AdminSecure 2007 is updated, check whether there is a Panda for Exchange Server 3.10.06 package in Tools, Updates and repositories, Packages tab.
5. Update Panda for Exchange Servers.
6. Once the hotfix is applied, check that the Panda for Exchange Server version is 3.10.06.

Resulting versions

Check the Panda for Exchange Server version, from Tools, Updates and repositories, Installation packets is 3.10.06.
 

Additional information

If you have a Panda AdminSecure version prior to 4.02.01, we recommend you download and install the latest version of the program and then install hotfix HAS_4_02_30_0012.exe.
